The BrainCode Process
45 min.
18 months.
One observational session to map how your child's brain learns. Then a structured 18-month pathway to build them into a fully independent learner — for any subject, any exam.
Overview
Four stages, one destination
Book the Discovery Session
45-minute observational session. No tests or questionnaires.
Receive the Learning Profile
Full VARK report with your child's entry point, within 24 hours.
Begin the 18-Month Pathway
Learning via the Kolb Cycle, starting from the dominant modality.
Track Observable Milestones
Six SRL milestones from first reflection to full independence.
The Discovery Session
We never ask. We watch.
A 45-minute mentor-led observational session. No questionnaire. No test. Your child experiences it as a natural conversation and a set of activities. The mentor is reading how their brain processes each type of input.
Self-report methods are inaccurate for children — they cannot reliably describe how they learn. Direct observation, structured across five input modalities, is the most accurate method available.
A short clip shown without explanation. The mentor watches where attention goes — detail, pattern, story, or colour.
Observing: Visual processing pattern, selective attention
A story narrated with no visuals. Retention, reconstruction accuracy, and questions asked are recorded.
Observing: Auditory retention, listening depth
A physical or interactive activity. Speed of engagement, spatial comfort, and trial-and-error confidence are observed.
Observing: Kinesthetic aptitude, spatial reasoning
Free-form dialogue with no right answers. The mentor assesses self-expression, conceptual articulation, and meta-awareness.
Observing: Verbal aptitude, self-awareness
A short passage is read. Comprehension depth, inference ability, and note-taking tendency are measured.
Observing: Read/Write aptitude, comprehension depth

Learning Profile
Arjun M. — Grade 5
Primary entry point
Visual · Concepts begin with diagrams and spatial cues
Mentor plan
Phase 1 develops kinesthetic (K: 45%). Read/Write is the Phase 2 growth target. Auditory expanded last.
Not a generic summary. A precise blueprint — scores across all four modalities, the identified entry point, and an 18-month learning plan built specifically for your child.
VARK Profile Scores
Percentage scores across all four modalities with the dominant entry point identified.
Learning Blueprint
How concepts should be introduced first — specific to your child, not a generic template.
18-Month Pathway Plan
Which modality is the entry point, which will be developed next, and when full flexibility is expected.
Home Guidance
Practical suggestions aligned with your child's profile — not generic study tips.
The Learning Engine
Every session follows the Kolb Cycle
CE
Do
Learning starts with experience — not a definition. The child does something first.
→RO
Watch
The child reflects on what they experienced. What did they notice? What surprised them?
↓AE
Apply
The child tests understanding in a new, unfamiliar situation — completing the cycle.

Think
Theory arrives on a brain that is ready — because it connects to a real experience.
←David Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle (1984) is the engine behind every BrainCode session. Concepts are never explained first — they are experienced first.
Experience before explanation
Every concept is encountered through doing — a task, an experiment, a situation — before any theory is introduced.
Observation deepens the experience
The mentor asks 'what did you notice?' — turning raw experience into conscious reflection.
Theory lands on a prepared brain
By the time the concept is explained, the child already has a mental hook for it — from their own experience.
Application locks in the learning
Not a repeat of the original task. Something new. This proves understanding has transferred.
The 18-Month Pathway
Six observable milestones. One destination.
Progress is never measured by grades. It is measured by observable behaviour — things a mentor can see and verify. Every milestone is a real, documentable change in how your child learns.
Phase 1 · Discovery
M1 – M6
Phase 2 · Expansion
M7 – M12
Phase 3 · Independence
M13 – M18
First reflection without prompting
Identifies own confusion
Chooses own learning modality
Explains concepts to a peer
Completes Kolb cycle independently
Self-directed learner
P1 Graduation — Month 9
The child can complete the full Kolb learning cycle independently, without mentor prompting. All three Zimmerman SRL phases are active simultaneously.

Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
What exactly happens during the Discovery Session?
The mentor runs five structured observations: a video clip, an audio story, a hands-on task, an open conversation, and a reading response. Your child is not told what is being assessed — they experience it as a natural interaction. The mentor records specific behavioural signals in each segment to build the VARK profile.
How is this different from a regular learning assessment?
Standard assessments ask children to self-report how they learn — which is highly inaccurate, especially for younger students. BrainCode's Discovery Session is purely observational. The mentor watches how your child actually behaves during different types of tasks, then builds the profile from real evidence, not from what a child says about themselves.
What does the Learning Profile Report include?
The report includes your child's full VARK profile with scores across all four modalities, the identified dominant entry point, an 18-month learning pathway plan, and specific guidance for how parents can support learning at home. It is a personalised document — not a generic summary.
How long does the full transformation take?
The full 18-month pathway takes your child from their natural entry point to complete multimodal flexibility and self-directed learning. The P1 milestone at month 9 is when a student can complete the full Kolb learning cycle independently. Month 18 is full independence.
What if my child is already a strong student?
Strong students often have a very dominant modality that works well in their current curriculum — but they are heavily dependent on that one format. BrainCode builds the modalities they have not yet developed, making them genuinely robust learners who can handle any format, any subject, any exam system.
How is BrainCode different from tutoring?
Tutoring delivers content. BrainCode builds a learner. A tutor helps a student pass the next exam. BrainCode's goal is that by month 18, the student no longer needs a tutor — for any subject. If a child still needs BrainCode after month 18, we have not done our job.
